Unit 1 Projects

Stamp

Plan:

Flatten a piece of clay to act as the back of the stamp and then slip and score each part of the fish(the body, fins, etc).

Face

Plan: roll and wedge clay. Try to create indents/face shape without carving straight into the clay/just cutting out the shape.

Unit 3 Projects

Slump mold

Plan: Take a bowl and cover it in plastic and wrap coils around it.

Sgraffito

Plan: Cut a slab of clay, wedge, flatten. Carve and outline into it and then paint it in underglaze.

Relief carving(final)

Plan: Make general shape of two clocks and then carve into them to create the details.

Coil building

Plan: Use the thing outside to create even coils. Wrap them around a bowl. When it's a little more dry, flip and smooth the inside so all the coils are connected/the bowl wont leak.

Slab with darts

Plan: Follow the tutorial. Using terracotta for the first time so extra careful. Carve a small design into the side.
